How we operate. What we deliver.

The work, the money, and the people behind We The Gente®, published in plain view.

Updated May 2026. We publish what's verifiable and update as the work grows.

The work.

What we've delivered, and what we're building.

We The Gente operates a portfolio of community programs across food assistance, bilingual navigation, family stabilization, workforce readiness, and veteran support. Programs scale up and down based on community need and operational capacity. We document what we do, and we publish what's verifiable.

Our food assistance program ran a high-intensity 60-day operation in early 2026 in response to acute community need. During that period, the program reached approximately 23% of the estimated Latino population in our seven-county service area. The full report documents weekly volume, geographic reach, household demographics, and operational details.

  • 776+families served
  • 16.5 tonsof culturally appropriate food delivered
  • 21 townsacross southeastern Minnesota
  • 23%of the estimated Latino population reached in 60 days

Our food assistance capability continues as an as-needed response when community need warrants. Our ongoing work focuses on bilingual navigation, family stabilization, workforce readiness, and direct community support, captured in real time through our intake systems and reported when results are verified.

The people.

An independent board, a working leadership team, and a community-staffed organization.

We The Gente operates with an independent board of directors that meets regularly, reviews executive compensation, approves annual budgets, and ensures the organization stays accountable to its mission and community. Our day-to-day work is led by a small leadership team and delivered by bilingual community-based staff who reflect the families we serve.

Board governance includes documented bylaws and standard nonprofit governance practices. Specific governance documents are available upon request to verified partners and funders.
